What do I do after an auto accident?

When you’re involved in an accident, it’s hard to not feel confused. Why did this happen to me? What lead to the collision? What do I do now? It can be hard to grasp what happened, and even harder to figure out how to deal with all that needs to be done.

1. Stay as calm as possible.
2. Check for injuries. Life and health are more important than damage to vehicles. When in doubt, call an ambulance.
3. If the accident is minor and there are no injuries, move the vehicles to a safe area that is clear of traffic. Many insurance companies recommend calling the police.
